2015 FOURSOMES CHAMPIONSHIPS
Rarely does everything come together for a golf event. However on Friday 15th May at Howlong Golf Club the RLGA Foursomes Championships had it all. Perfect weather conditions a beautifully manicured course and a field of one hundred and twenty enthusiastic players.
The early morning travellers did have fog to contend with on their drive to Howlong. However a clear sky and sunshine greeted everyone on arrival at the course. Special thanks to coordinator Ros Webb for the preparation and her management of the event. Also thanks to Lyn Crocker and her team of Howlong volunteers for their magnificent support at the tees and throughout the day in the clubhouse.
A big ‘shout out’ to the Thurgoona contingent. Many of these ladies benefitted from their golf development program conducted during April with the support of an RLGA grant.
At the business end of the day the leader board was congested. After all the calculations were completed a local pair emerged by one stroke as 2015 Riverina Foursomes Champions. The magic number 82 was needed to take out the beautiful Kennedy-Iverach Perpetual trophies.
