RLGA Life Member Beryl Kennedy celebrated her 100th birthday on Monday 13 June in Narrandera.
Beryl thanked the RLGA for the card and flowers and was proud to display her Life Membership certificate.
Beryl spoke of many memories when playing golf. Her memory of Narrandera golf course is walking down the long par 5 12th hole and then having to climb up the hill to 13th green, She said she never looked forward to that hole and the Riverina ladies these days have it easy in carts. Her ''tip'' for me was to play more than once a week and always walk the course, stating ''if you don''t use them (legs) you loose them'
Beryl enjoyed talking about playing golf in the rain at Albury and joining in around an open fire to dry off and talk about their days golf with friends.
Beryl met her husband at the golf club where he was the local pro when she started golf '"Any wonder I was keen on golf. He proposed to me as we were walking up the first fairway.'"
Beryl shared many memories and is looking forward to the 85th celebrations in September ''although I won''t be playing this time'"
Beryl said golf was a great game and the friends you make are even better So many good memories.
Happy Birthday Beryl
